Demystifying SEO Language
Our comprehensive glossary is your key to unraveling the world of SEO terminology, making it accessible and understandable for beginners and experts alike.
Nofollow
Nofollow tags tell search engines to ignore a particular link so that it does impact their ranking. This is done by using the rel="nofollow" tag. When this is added, it will tell the crawler not to follow it and to disregard it. It does not pass on any PageRank and as a result, the page's search engine rankings are not impacted.
NoIndex Tag
NoIndex tags tell crawlers not to index a particular page. This may be because the page is still under development, is private, or shouldn't be indexed because it contains a large database or is the mobile-friendly version of another page.
